Privacy policy

Last updated [date]

Before publishing, settle two open questions and edit the marked lines: whether contacts stay on the device or sync to the server, and whether groups are stored on the server. This page must match what the app actually does, and your Play Data Safety form must match this page.

This policy covers Nyota, an app built by Worthwhile Solutions. It explains what the app holds about you, why, and how to get rid of it.

What we hold

Your phone number

Nyota uses your mobile number as your account. It is how a host reaches you with an invitation and how you sign in.

Your name and photo

Optional, and shown to people you invite. If you host an occasion, guests see the name and photo on your profile — never the name anyone has saved you under on their own phone.

Invitations

The occasions you are invited to, the ones you host, your replies, and how many seats you confirm. Kept so your list stays complete and searchable.

Contacts

[EDIT: pick one.] Either — Nyota asks for contacts only when you host something, and the selection stays on your device; only the numbers you actually invite reach our servers. Or — Nyota stores the contacts you add to groups so your groups survive a new phone.

What we do not do

  • We do not sell your data, and we do not share it with advertisers.
  • We do not show your invitations to anyone who was not invited to them.
  • We do not tell other guests who else was invited, or which functions they were invited to.
  • We do not run advertising in the app.

Who can see what

A host sees who they invited and how many seats each guest confirmed. A guest sees the invitation, the host and the co-hosts. Guests do not see each other.

If you were invited but never signed up

A host can send an invitation to a number that has never used Nyota. We hold that invitation against the number so it is waiting if you install the app. If nobody claims it, it is deleted after [12 months].

Deleting your account

You can delete your account inside the app under You, or from this page without installing anything. Everything we hold about you goes, apart from records we are required to keep by law.

Children

Nyota is not intended for anyone under 13.

Changes

If this policy changes in a way that matters, we will say so in the app before it takes effect.
